What
is the Live Band Karaoke Rock Star Experience?
LBK is probably the best corporate
events band operating in Australia, and with a unique feature.
Any guest at your party is welcome on stage to be the lead
vocalist and experience real rock stardom!
The band plays with you and for you and all the lyrics
to the songs appear on a screen in front of the singer.
Our line up includes electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboards
and our own vocalist to help you along. All the musicians
sing vocals, so we make you sound like a star!
BASIC GIG INFORMATION
You do not need to know all the words to come on stage
and be a rock star.
We provide an MC unless you want to use your own.
We can sing and play all night if you are a bit shy,
although this has never been required.
Even if a particular guest can't sing, our band will
drive the song and can make anyone sound good! We guarantee
a great show regardless of how much musical talent is
at your party.
Our roving MC distributes song lists and generally encourages
guest participation.
A standard show is three hours (which is 3 x 40 minutes
with 2 breaks). We think the last three hours of the party
are the best time for us to play, but we can adapt to
most formats.
You can use our PA system for speeches and presentations
if you would like to.
FORMATS, OPTIONS AND INCLUSIONS
We love an open mic free-for-all but we can include
a talent competition in the evening if you wish.
Idol-style nights have proven very popular as part or
all of a gig. (We've had clients appoint guest judges
like Paulini and Kyle Sandilands)
We can provide all production (sound, staging, lighting
etc) or deal directly with your technical providers.
We have an extensive list of rock and pop songs selected
to put energy into a party.
Our list of songs spans 6 decades, from Elvis to the
Chili Peppers and more.
We have travelled all over Australia and can work offshore
subject to availability logistics.
We have played at everything from investment banking
conferences to fundraising events, awards nights and even
private birthday parties.
Our smallest show so far has been for about 20 people,
our largest over 1,000.
In the last year or so we have also played for Macquarie Bank (four times), Sanofi-Aventis (four times), for MTV, BP, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, ABN-Amro, Panasonic, Laing and Simmons, for a number of birthday boys and girls, at a handful of fundraising dinners and trivia nights and for several event managers including Prideaux, Event Planet, Events Unlimited, Podium, twentyfour7 and others.
Where did we play?
We have played at several Hunter
Valley resorts, at Mirage Port Douglas , at Palazzo Versace,
Conrad-Jupiters and Hyatt Coolum in Queensland. We have
played all over Sydney including the Sydney Opera House,
Sydney University, Darling Harbour, Luna Park many major
hotels and the odd suburban pub.

While we encourage duos and trios, stage sizes and
safety issues will prevent too many people on stage at
once as a group. We will have to make the call on a gig
by gig basis.
We cannot without notice add songs to our list: we will
always try to help but the answer might be 'sorry, no'
or it might mean incurring costs. By all means ask though.
Our insurers and our lawyers warn us not to let overly
drunk people on stage: Your insurers and lawyers probably
agree.
Not all venues are suitable for a live band so talk
to us first so we can make sure that everything works
well for acoustics, power-points and so on.
Live Band Karaoke was established
by two former Macquarie Bank executives, Greg Peel and Andrew
Coorey.
Greg's post banking work has been with Opera Australia,
in children's theatre, in event management and as a published
author and journalist. He has produced scores of successful
Live Band Karaoke events.
Andrew Coorey is a professional events presenter who has
organised literally thousands of trivia nights, has been
flown overseas numerous times to MC client dinners, he has
written for, produced and presented radio programs for some
of the biggest names at 2UE… and for himself.
